Little Legion Madness! (1 Viewer)

ooooh mysterious.Thank you for the photos, you're very obliging.I can make out a small column of marching Monroe Regt. Grenadiers-telling me all I need know, that these good people will shortly receive some inquisitive ms.Thanks again.o.(LL look great, including the set that started this thread Nassau Gren.s)

Little Legion is a worthy successor to Trophy. Mike does figures that Len never did and the two go well together. It takes a long time to get your order from Mike though. Dave Thanks for posting those pictures. I was in Milwaukee in 1998 and never knew about Paul's shop. Too bad.

Actually Damian, if its any consolation at all, Paul did not own the shop until 1999 so I'm not sure how it was prior to that. The previous owner has moved to Florida I think. Next time you are in the States, you will have to include this stop in your itinerary.

In 1999 there was a publication called the Toy Soldier Compendium. It was very good and it encapsulated the hobby as it then was. K and C had not achieved dominance yet but was obvioulsy on its way. Britains under Richard was looking good with the new matt ACW figures and Trophy etc were still around. They did list the Toy Soldier Shop in Milwaukee. I am not sure hwo was the propietor. Unfortunately the book came out at the end of 1998. I was in Milwaukee in Feb 1998. It was snowing quite heavily and I went to watch the Milwaukee Admirals play.

Yes Damian, I was thinking after my last post that Trophy was probably still around and in full swing...wish I would have been collecting then. Also, as you say K&C had not yet gotten so huge...hard to imagine that reality now...sort of like growing up with 4 TV channels and no cell phone is hard to imagine now. I trust you were not in Milwaukee in the dead of winter solely for the minor league hockey game? Next time be sure to visit in Spring or summer and we'll go to Miller Park and watch the Brewers play baseball.

I attended the Society of University Surgeons meeting to present some research. The year before it was in Hawaii and the year after it was in New Orleans. I chose Milwaukee.
Still I enjoyed myslef.

I may be biased, but I think you chose well. I figured it was probably a medical conference. You could always book a Mayo Clinic conference some time, that would bring you to the region too.

Here are some photos of the LL Napoleonics at the Toy Soldier Shoppe. Sadly, another shelf full was photographed but too dark to show. Good stuff, right?

Great photos. I have one of their catalogues but they only have photos ( good ones by the way ) of some of their sets. Likewise for Tommy Atkins. These photos are always great help for me, I rarely see these sets live before I buy them. Many thanks for posting them.

Here you go, my friend. Sadly, my camera was on a funny setting so I got fairly dark photos, but...

On the lower right corner of the first T. Atkins photo, in blue uniforms: PORTUGUESE WWI SOLDIERS!
