Hi all! Here is a chance to pick up a nice King & Country set and do some good at the same time.
Tomorrow Saturday, February 10th there will be a benefit for a family we know here in Eyota. While we doubt any of you can make it to the chili feed or the dance we wanted to let you know that a BBA12 Enemy in Sight set will be auctioned off as part of the benefit.
We doubt the locals will have any idea of the value of a set of King & Country, although it is listed with it's $79 value because toy soldier collecting is relatively unknown here in SE Minneota. Because of this we thought it might be a good idea to let you all know about the auction and if any of you would like to place a bid you can let us know and we'll make sure someone bids for you. We are a bit afraid it won't go for more than $20 and that won't do much to help pay Tom's medical bills.
Here is the announcement they put in the local newspaper this week:
On November 10, 2006 Tom was involved in a a very serious pedestrian/vehicle accident and suffereed severe injuries. He was hit by a truck while acting as a good samaritan and directing traffic during a snow storm. He was hospitalized for 35 days and treated for a traumatic brain injury, blood clots, fractured facial bones, a broken collar bone and broken leg. As a result Tom has been unable to work and the benefit is to assist with the financial hardship.
For more info on Tom go to www.caringbridge.org/visit/thomaswelsh
There is no minimum bid that I know of so if anyone has any sort of a bid please let us know asap and we'll make sure it gets taken to the benefit. If you have the winning bid we will pay for the set and you can then pay us.
Thanks very much!
