On our second to last night in Britain, Howard, Jenny and I stayed at the historic Blue Boar Inn, the oldest portion of which was constructed circa 1300 as a local landowner's hunting lodge. Outside it was a combination brick and Tudor style building, while inside, the furnishings were all antiques, and the walls were covered with period paintings, prints, and even a needlepoint of the Kings Color and the Regimental Color of the Oxford Light Infantry with an early daggeurotype of the family member in the regiment.
