London Toy Soldier Show - John Jenkins at JJD UK (1 Viewer)

Say, I was just wondering how well the Jonesy figure sold. I did not see it on your table picture.

Matthew...I got 1 of them...at only a 100 limited production...I definitely wanted this piece...

Hi Mike,

I thought they were only available at the show, then for sale after. That's pretty fast shipping from the UK. Or did you go over for the show? I hope to do that one day if schedules align.

I'm still interested in how well they sold at the show. The figure being a character from a BBC show, I would think it would sell pretty well, just from the guys who also liked the show who collect figures.

I will get one as well. I liked the BBC show "Dad's Army"

Matthew...

Nicholas Cameron from Crown Military Miniatures went to the London Show to host his own booth...as a favor...he picked one up for me...

James had a promotion where he would gift it to you for a 70 pound purchase...or another option to buy one outright...

I have not received mine yet...but will have Nicholas mail it to me when I make my next JJD order with him...if you really want one...I would not hesitate to contact James about getting one soon...it's my understanding that only 100 were made...it's going to be such a rare figure...thet might not last long...

I got no intel on how they sold at the show...

I let James know I wanted one and he said he would have one for me. I really got him for the nostalgia of the BBC TV show character that the figure represents. His paint scheme is for the later part of the Sudan. The interesting thing for the Sudan is that the British were changing their uniform color over from the red jackets and blue trousers to this all Khaki with puttees. So for early Sudan you get to field red coats with grey trousers, or Grey and Grey, then Grey jacket and khaki trousers. The Camel Corps was really interesting, they also had goggles to keep the sand out of their eyes.

One thing I'd like to see come out is a captured Krupps 6 lb. artillery gun. The Mahdi captured quite a few after they attached Kitchner (??) and the Egyptians at the start. I have a few 28mm sets with captured Egyptian crews shackled together firing the gun, while a Beja overseer whips them to fire faster.

There are a lot of really nice native units on the British side too. These are some painted 28mm Bashi-Bazouks from Perry Miniatures

Lots of stuff to do with the Sudan and I am sure John will touch it all from the looks of things.

I couldn't resist buying one of the "Dad's Army" Jonesy figures. I have the entire show on DVD, and I went out and obtained two of the Trophy Dad's Army sets, so getting one of these was a must.

Nice way to spend a few minutes on the forum John thanks for the 3 minute show.......The Lt.

I thoroughly enjoyed watching the video - thanks a lot to JJD UK :)
