Lone Pine - 1915. Larsen Toys. (1 Viewer)

Excellent and Marg must be happy that there are no more sticks lying around in the yard! {sm4}

Lone Pine is probably the most famous attack involving Australian soldiers on Gallipoli, although the Landing is obviously central to the whole story. The tragedy at the Nek may well be just as famous, at least for Australians.

The Australian War Memorial in Canberra have some magnificent dioramas that were built in the 1920s. This is a picture of the one constructed for Lone Pine. I did not want to post it earlier in case people struggled to identify which one was mine. {sm4}

I know that the manufacturer still has unpainted castings that he would be happy to sell. I think 10 dollars was the going price the last time I asked. Well worth a look.

Well Jack has stolen my thunder with his great dio. I've been meaning to do one with these figures for ages but having everything in storage for over a year has slowed me down. What I had in mind was a bit different though, so Jack and I are planning a day for me to have a go. Doing them in the first place was inspired by those wonderful War Memorial presentations.

Yes, I still have a number of the castings and even a few of the painted ones available. There are also four that never got to the mold phase, I will try and post pictures of those soon.
