About time I actually registered to this site as clearly it is about the best 1/32 soldier forum about.

For a long time I have collected 1/32 armour but recently it is the figures that are getting my hard earned money but my main aim is to get hold of all or most of the conte ww2 playsets (not of course that I have anywhere to put them).

So here is my first question for those of you lucky enough to own any of these how well do they fit with other manufactures buildings and are there any you would particularly recommend to complement my planned Normandy village.

Oh and in the UK I am very much after all the rarer ww2 conte metal and playsets as I still have a lot of gaps.

Welcome to the forum mate. Hope you enjoy your time on here.

Re the Conte WWII playsets, I think the chances of getting a complete playset are getting rarer and rarer, although you can still get a number of the terrain pieces, albeit, in most cases, you'll be importing from the States.

The buildings are superb, I luv 'em. Got most of the WWII pieces and a few others. Although they're designed for 1/32, they work well with 1/30 scale stuff as well.

The pieces that are standouts for me are the Church and priory (from sets 6 and 7), and the bridge and large house from set 1.

As to where to get them from, 2 places usually have some Conte buildings / terrain pieces in.

Click on the 'Scenic and Diorama' tab, then 'Formtech' under the 1/32 section, and scroll down towards the bottom of that page.

There are various others who do similar types of Formtech pieces including Hobby Bunker (www.hobbybunker.com ), CTS ( www.classictoysoldiers.com )and TSSD ( www.sdsoldiers.com ), all who turn out quality products that will fit very nicely with the Conte buildings.

With regards to the figure sets, which ones are you on the lookout for?
Conte themselves list some on ebay under 'beaugeste collectables' (or similar).
Another ebay shop to look at is BTsoldiers. They carry a lot of the earlier WWII metal sets at reasonable prices.
Some of the later WWII sets are becoming a little harder to get hold of, but there are still plenty of bits out there.

Ken Jackson at Maison Militaire carrys some Conte, here in the UK, but you'll have to ring him to find out what stock he has in.

Cheers

1) Welcome to the best toy soldier site

2) as to fitting in, I have not placed any Conte buildings next to the stuff from Build-a-rama but I'll bet the 1:32 scale BAR stuff is pretty compatible. Conte's figures are a bit larger than some other 1/32nd figures. Conte WW2 figures do work well with recent figures from Wm Britain and the ETO sets from Old Northwest Trading Co.
