Gents,

I recently had a large collection of FIW and ACW figures by Tradition of London damaged. I had just unpacked them a few weeks ago at my ancestral homeplace, which was only two miles from the epicenter of Tuesday's earthquake. I have managed to salvage all the soldiers, arms, muskets, and flags from the debris (which was like searching for needles in a haystack). Who would like to repair hundreds of Tradition casualties of the Virginia quake? I wish I had the skills to do so myself, but I don't. Top dollar offered.

Dave,

I didn't realise the quake was that close to Richmond.....

A old 'girl friend' or mine lives in Glen Allen, so I better check to see if she was OK...

Back onto your thread..... I'd love to do the work, but being in Australia, makes the transport cost a bit high so hopefully someone closby can take up the challenge.... good luck, and I hope that the troops survive thier trauma. :)

John,

The antebellum log cabin in which my grandfather was born was almost at the epicenter. After seven years of off-and-on restoration work, we'd had the occupancy permit from the county for a month and a half. It had been two weeks since I had unpacked my Tradition troops, since I'd planned on using the cabin as my weekend getaway. But, they are only material goods. No one was hurt. So I shouldn't complain. I'll keep you in mind if I don't get more offers, at least for the limited editions. :smile2:

Saw this thread. First, have you been able to get your Toy Soldiers repaired? If not, you can try Dorset Toy Soldiers or Tradition themselves in the UK, they may help. I have had experience in repairing and painting toy (Tradition) and model soldiers, but if I were you, I would try the original makers first. I've attached photos of Tradition castings I've painted (Massed French Grenadier Band). If all else fails, I am willing to help.
