Happy Easter folks,
Does anyone here know if there is a (JJD compatible) War of 1812 / Battle of New Orleans Andrew Jackson figure; either a kit or pre-painted?

There are a few on ebay (Britains Toy Soldiers 17473) but the one in the US looks like it has been well used.
Same figure is in UK, but big shipping charges.

Any other options? Thanks gents.

Hi LaRRY,

Have you tried Valiant Enterprises Ltd Kit Number 9799, Andrew Jackson at New Orleans.

Quite a good kit that should paint up well, and available from Valiant, now.

Happy Collecting, (painting?)

Surprising that there haven't been more Jacksons. Not my favorite President but nevertheless.

Yep, hard to find a good example, until now.
I had been hoping that John (JJD) would release one, maybe as a Club figure or as a continuation of his War of 1812 series, but alas ...{sm2} no such luck.

The War of 1812 is still a bit of a back burner era for most folks, I guess, but one of my favorite series, after the AWI.

Now lets see how good or terrible my painting skill are ...:redface2:

Will do. It will either look like Old Hickory or a character out of the "Walking Dead" :rolleyes2:

Ordered the Andrew Jackson figure and it is on the way. I have painted many wooden / resin / plastic models, but never a metal figure.

With all the "painting masters" on this forum, what do you folks suggest is the best PRIMER to use? ^&confuse

I have Tamiya and Model Master paints that I am planning to use, but not sure on the Primer for metal. {sm2}
Any help would be appreciated.

I am going to the Valley Forge show in 2 weeks and "hopefully" can pick up some paint or primer there, if needed.

Sorry it took a while to get back here, but I attended the MFCA show (see other thread).
A fun time and a lot of GREAT figures painted by very talented folks.

Kinda' intimidated me a bit .... :redface2:
