Dear Eric:
I thought Peter and Shannon would have relied by now, but Treefrog Treasures has WS43, AK16, AK21, AK22, and EA04 (British 25lb gun) for sale. Reading some of their posts, they also appear to accept retired K&C items in trade. :)

Steven - You have to let us sleep! We may seem to be on the Forum 24 hours a day ...

Drop us an e-mail Eric.

Eric,

If I were you, I would try to sell WS 57 on ebay. I follow ebay auctions and keep a list of every retired WW 2 item sold and prices have been averaging in the $200 range, with the most recent sale on September 27 for $227.50. On current items, Shannon and Pete can fill your needs, as Steven has noted. I would not wait too to long on WS 43 as that will be retired soon. I also think you can put the 25 pounder in that category as well (just my opinion). AK 05 through 07 will be very hard to find as that has not appeared on ebay this year nor have I heard of it being traded or sold. The only really old AK I've seen on ebay (pre AK 11) was AK 01 a couple of months ago and that went for $460. New AKs are coming out in January and they will be clearly much better than the old ones so I were you I'd wait for the new ones. Just my 2 cents.

Another way of getting retired items is too get to know other collectors and trade what you have with what they need or perhaps they can put you in touch with people who are a match. There's quite an underground in trading.

Those older AK sets are very hard to find and very expensive when you do. I have the full set except the Hanomag and it took me a long time to find.

Thanks,
Bill Sager

I started to collect in late 2003 :) and have noticed the prices shoot up since then  - I thought that they may fall again and wonder if they have dropped a little - what do you think?

At the same time, is it me or are there many more items coming out each year? I can barely keep pace with the new ones - never mind the old ones - if prices are dropping slightly maybe this has something to do with it?

I only collect ww2, but would love to have napoleonics and lots more but do not have a house (or soon Warehouse?) or wallet big enough. :(
