Reports have circulated that Osman Digna, the Madhi's ablest general who broke the British square at the 1884 Battle of Tamai, is hiding in a Sudanese village whose inhabitants are sympathetic to the jihadist cause. The British have sent out patrols in the area to hunt him down. These three Gordons, members of one of the patrols, have found the village they are searching presently empty of its residents.

Nice picture and story Randy...more than slightly paralleling our current events...

As Ecclesiastes says: "There is nothing new under the sun"

I think he had the Middle East in mind when he made that comment...:D...

I don't think the common architecture or dress has changed in 500 years...

the dwellings are timeless...

Randy the things your mind comes up with is amazing.Your efforts are appreciated. Cheers, Robin.

The drawing is superb and if asked to guess, I say the someone has done a watercolor of JJD figures. I thought it was your own work, but now.... looking at the date of 1880.... amazed... maybe John used this as a source and model ??
