Imagine a collection without the Sun King. Of course, I needed a fig based on the famous Hyacinthe Rigaud painting. Andrea Miniatures had produced an excellent metal kit of him but it was very expensive.
In a moment of weakness, I opted for a cheap pirated copy at that time. Upon buttembly, the parts do not fit well and the lesson here is obvious- don't buy pirated copies.
Anyway, I decided to go ahead and see if I can try to make something out of it. The left leg was bulked out with a little putty on the calf and the parts were held together with blue tac and then sprayed with a white undercoat. As can be seen, this will need a lot of rework to make it decent.
