Hey fellas:

Perhaps this isn't the proper area to post this thread. Here is an amazing "Kiwi":) artist who did some really outstanding LRDG artwork. Perhaps those of you who do the artwork backgrounds into your dios may like these pictures and be able to use them

Chris, I love the art, as you say especially the LRDG stuff. never seen his stuff before, it's great! makes you wonder what else thats great is out there that I haven't seen?

Thanks for posting that , I remeber seeing an article sometime ago
about that site but had forgotten all about it and never checked it out.
Its cool to see some paintings rather than photos ,I normally associate
war art with much earlier conflicts.

Awesome watercolors of the LRDG and other action in North Africa, Italy and Crete. Thanks so much for the link, Chris!:)

I'm wondering if K&C or Figarti have any plans to add to there LRDG lines?

I'd love it if they did, but where do you go once you've produced the Chevy and jeep. I'd say there's scope for another jeep from K&C, but where there other vehicles used?

Heres a link to a site thats got some good shots of various trucks etc
they used ,including the heavy section vehicles used to supply them.

The chevy ambulance looks pretty ungainly , looks like some of the
home made campervans you see driving around [or the beverly hillbillies truck].

Great site Rob, thanks for flagging that up. Some of those would look superb, I hadn't realised the vehicle selection was a sdiverse as that.
Cheers

glad to see everyone enjoyed those pics- I think some of the artwork- photos, paintings, etc are some of the most dramatic out there.

Great couple of links. Always a pleasure to view odd bits of info fellow members track down. I especially liked that pencil of the "Kiwi" soldier. Thanks again:).

Yup, there was were Ford F 30s (see image). However, they weren't up to the task and the Chevys replaced them. There were also Bedford and Marmon-Herrington lorries as well as SPA AS 37 trucks.

There were also vehicles by the Germans and the Italians such as the Sahariana that were designed to counter the LRDG. Theoretically, K & C could make Axis opposition forces.
