I just bought a Figarti LRDG Truck. It's a beautiful piece, highly detailed with detachable driver and accessories. It is of KC standard in look and feel (but lighter and rubberized tires). The grille is hollowed vs carved which is carved out and painted black. The figures are ok...but still prefer KC. You can mix them with KC figures.
BUT, it is slightly bigger than KC. You don't want to put them side by side as the difference is quite pronounced. Maybe the Figarti 1/32 LRDG will match KC 1/30 or is the KC version a true 1/32?
Now I am confused...wil the true 1/30 please stand up!

I tried to post the side by side picture but Treefrog will only allow 97KB my pix are 141KB. Anyone interested, please PM me

The origanal K&C (pre-polystone) Chevy is smaller than the K&C polystone Chevy, which is in turn smaller than the Figarti Chevy. I suspect that the original is 1:32, the second K&C is 1:31 and the Figarti is 1:30, but I am no expert on scale. Anybody with the expertise who wants to come by the museum and take measurements to do the calculations, be my guest.

Just a midafternoon patrol: Andy's beast gets stuck in the sand as it is quite a bit heaver!

Both pieces are excellent, the Figarti has real rubber tires, and all the cargo is loose so it can be posed.

Andy's beast is just excellent, quite a bit heaver, and the attention to detail is terrific!

The dingo lends a hand and they are off again!:

The day wears on, and the shadows get longer.......I wonder what that gunner has been firing at?

The end of another mission!

Now, all we need is a shot between KC LRDG Truck and the Figarti LRDG Truck in 1/32. My gut feeling is the 1/32 Figarti will be same as the KC 1/30...anyone?

Thanks

I saw the 1/32 version at the west coaster and I'd guess the relative size would probably look about the same as NJJA pics with the 1/32 being the smaller to the K&C version. Just a guess as I remember.

What we need is a desert Sherman to push Andy's Chevy out of the soft sand.
Those are great pictures and I am much obliged for you posting them. Your Vietnam firebase and Figarti boat are also great.

I've only got the FM32 Chevy, so can't compare it like for like, but the measurements of the FM32 are:
Length - 7" / 175mm (front bumper to tailgate)
Height - 2 3/8" / 55mm (bottom of tyre to top of side)
Height - 2" / 25mm (bottom of tyre to top of bonnet - cab end)
Width - 2 5/8" / 67mm (at widest point).

Hope that helps.

Thanks.

That's exactly the size of the supposedly 1/30 KC LRDG Truck...it's actually 1/32! No wonder the KC seated figures on the LRDG truck are relatively smaller compared to the other KC EA figures (Mine Clearing).

In the Osprey's Book "Desert Raiders," one of the picture showed a standing soldier by the tailgate of the truck. The shoulders are slightly above the tailgate. The KC E8 soldier & the Figarti truck are a perfect fit as in the picture. The original Figarti figure's neck is by the tailgate.

So, if anyone wants to match KC truck with the Figarti truck, get the 1/32 version

I just made a research and found out that the LRDG also used the CWT 15 until the Jeep came.
With a wheelbase of 101 inches, the slightly smaller 15 CWT was capable of hauling about 3/4 tons of supplies. It acted primarily as a pilot car until it was replaced by the Jeep. As you can tell the 15 CWT looks very similar to the 30 CWT. The principal difference is the wheel wells around the rear tires and the front bumper, and of course the overall size. Unlike the 30 CWT which had a metal cargo bed, the 15 CWT has a wood cargo bed.

So, to, those of us who bought both Figarti (bigger) and KC (smaller) there's our answer. We can put them side by side without remorse

NP thanks for that info. It is interesting and useful.
Is there any evidence that it's use co-inciced with the Jeep. then we could have a whole column of teh Figarti Chevy's K and C chevy's and teh jeeps. By the way how many of these wehilces would go out on patrol together. What would a typical desert column look like.
