It is 1884 and we are in Egypt during the Anglo-Sudan War and the crisis of the siege of Khartoum and the Gordon Relief Expedition. Below is a period photo of some of the British forces who participated in the fight against the Mahdi and his jihad to oust foreigners from North Africa.

Among those recently arrived in Egypt at the time was Miss Lucy Faversham who had accompanied her widowed father, a colonel in the Heavy Camel Regiment, to the Middle East. We see the young woman in her Cairo hotel room reading a Baedeker guide to Egypt. Never having been in this part of the world before, she he eager to see the local wonders such as the pyramids and the Great Sphinx.

Accompanied by a trusted NCO of the Heavy Camel Regiment, as a chaperone, Miss Faversham enjoys the monuments that she has only known previously through the books and engravings in her father's extensive library.

A photograph of Miss Faversham and her escort as it might have appeared in 1884.

Excellent Randy, like how you have incorprated a little bit of everything in these photos. Nice use of the Britains furniture set.

Thank Scott

It was your post of the WB furniture set that inspired me to add it to my scenic props.

I'm afraid I'm going to have to repeat myself Randy. I knew it wouldn't take you very long to show of the pretty lady your rescued from the History Store yesterday during our visit. Once again you've done an excellent job in showing her off.......The Lt.

Another winner, Randy. Very impressive.

First, the creativity behind it, secondly, the execution, particularly the transition from foreground to background. I never thought this would be possible this smoothly without some props like stones, logs, luggange etc.
