Hi guys
I was looking at the LVT (great model )and was wandering if the allies used them in Europe and if so why has no one brought it out yet ,would be an excellent addition to your collections
I am thinking going into PACIFIC theatre after seeing these new releases

One of the types of LVTs were used by the Canadians for river crossings in western Europe and possibly by the Brits and US troops there as well. Some may have been used in Italy.

But the LVT is really famous as a marine landing craft in the Pacific. K&C made one and Figarti has several versions - but I think their early ones are 1:32.

Only certain models made it to Europe and the camo was likely different. I had some photos of the exact LVTs ferrying Canadian troops across a river in Europe and have used the K&C LVT (it's the only one I have) with the Canadian D-Day troops. Don't know for sure if that was the version of LVT the Canadians used, or what the colour was - The LVT photos I have are b&w and the LVTs are muddy and dirty.

The 2nd K&C Iwo Jima model is an LVT-4 Buffalo. Figarti also did one LVT-4 model.

Here is a photo of Canadians with Buffalos on flatbeds getting ready to cross the Rhine. By then the 2 MG positions had armoured enclosures. Canadians also used them in Italy and in the Scheldt. The 2nd photo is of Canadians crossing the Scheldt.
