I just received my copy of a book that others may find interesting. It's titled "The M1 Garand" by Tom Laemlein. Part of the "American Firepower Series" from Armor Plate Press. Rather than another technical history of the M1 or a shooters guide to collecting them, this book consists entirely of period photos of the M1 in use in WW2 and some in Korea. Not only is this a good historical look at one of the finest infantry rifles ever built, but it's also a great look at soldiers and Marines with their M1s. The photos are good-sized and well reproduced. As a soldier collector I came away with a dozen scene ideas, several figure conversion ideas and a great desire to end a copy to K&C with pages flagged with "we need some of these...". The book is a bit pricey at $35.00, but the book is a hardbound and the price includes US postage.

The book is available directly at;

I also suggest that you take a look at Armor Plate Press' line of calendars. I have bought their Sherman Tank Calendar every year and haven't been disappointed yet.
