Hi,

Strange question I know but you guys always come up trumps with the answers. I have the chance to get hold of the K&C Winter Chaffee tank for a stupidly low price but it is missing the crew and machine gun. The crew I can live without (unless anyone happens to have them for sale) but the gun I can't...what would be the best 'replacement'? Can I buy individual parts from K&C like that or can anyone recommend another model company, airfix etc that would be the best option for a replacement? Again this is presuming no-one has a spare US tank machine gun they wouldn't mind selling.

Cheers,

Chris

You could use, or even customize a tank crew from the K&C US Tank Crew that is still around. The gun can be dealt with in several ways:
1) since your tank is "non-original" anyway, you can have somebody build you an M2HB in 1/30th
2) You could either make or have one of us customizers make you a "canvas covered" machine gun - each .50 cal was issued with a canvas weather cover.
3) do without - tell people the gun was damaged and the supply people haven't caught up yet :)
4) hope that somebody has an extra .50 caliber MG
5) Use one from Forces of Valor and accept that it will be way too small for the K&C tank.
So here are a few options for you.

Great stuff, thanks Gary.
When you say the tank is 'non-original', what do you mean by that? What kind of price are you looking at for a customized covered gun?
