I've been on the hunt for the Madame Tussaud's souvenir figures for a while. I'm not sure how many different ones were produced, but these are Henry VIII and Elizabeth I. I believe these were made around 1934 or so. I don't know too much about them so if you have any additional information, let us all know!

Hi Zach,

They are in my books upstairs so I will have to get them to let you know more about the line. Great pick ups! I think that's one of the better Henry VIII figures they produced.

More soon

Ok Here is what I found in a quick look at The Great Book of Britain's and Obriens book on TS collecting.

T1 Henry VII
T2 bust of Madame Tussaud
T3 Little Red Riding Hood
T4 QE I
T5 Cinderella with wooden broom which is usually missing
T6 HRH The Prince of Wales as Colonel in Chief of the Welsh Guards. Very rare figure from the original run there are copies out there so if you find one take a very close look at it before you plunk down a lot of cash.

1997 price guide gave a range of prices for these figures of about 35 to 90 bucks. He didn't list the last two figures so it seems he didn't know about them or they were left out. The Britain's book shows them in production in 1934 and I believe again in 1940. I didn't see anything listed for after the war but Obriens indicates a run in 1989. I have no other info on them. I hope this helps a bit.

There are a couple of articles in Old Toy Soldier magazine: v8#6, and v28#3 (2004). In the latter piece, Philip Dean wires that all the masters and moulds were produced from April to August 1934, and the figures issued late '34 or early '35. The rare Prince of Wales figure was adapted for issue as a souvenir of George VI's 1947 visit to South Africa. I've added a website photo from Neil Rhodes' Toy Soldier Shop in Washington DC showing a number of Henry VIIIs and the bust of Madame Tussaud. Photo is copyright 2012 by Rhodes, but I'm guessing he won't mind it appearing here. T1, T2 [Neil Rhodes' Toy Soldier Shop; copyright 2012].JPG

Now to hunt for the rest!!!! {sm4}

ZB,

Wow those are neat! Good luck finding them. By the way, did you ever watch "The Tudors"

Yeah, people have complained that it isn't 100% accurate, but I don't care - I love that kind of stuff!

Hi Zach,

Not sure of your interest in this figure but there is a Cinderella Figure on Ebay. If you do a search for Madame Tussards it should pop up. While I think its bit high priced I can tell you that this is the first one I have seen on ebay and they dont come up all that often any where else either. Let us know if you go for it.

I would love that but even as insane as I am, I can't even pull the trigger at that price.

Thanks truly for letting me know about it though. I have been looking for the rest of these, but I missed that one

Hi Zach,

It is a pricey one to be sure. Keep it on you watch list because it could be one of those ones that takes a while to resell. Of course there is also the possibility of someone with more money than sense just buying it...:salute:: I will let you know if I see any others, if you want to PM me a list of what you are looking for feel free I may find one over here.

I am so mad at myself. Saw an ad for an auction that had some of the other figures of this series and now I can't remember which auction it was! Anyone know?
