Retired Air Force Col. Walker "Bud" Mahurin passed away May 11 at age 91. Col. Mahurin was credited with 20.75 victories in WW2 and another 3.50 victories in Korea. In Korea he was shot down and made a POW. Mahurin flew P-47's in the ETO in WW2 and in Nov. '43 he became the first American to become a double ace (10 vics) in the ETO. He also flew P-51's in the PTO and his last victory was scored over the Japanese in Jan. '45. Another hero has gone. -- Al
