Here is an easy how-to. I was walking arount Hobby Lobby and I saw these wooden dowel ends and I said to myself these could be used for pots. So here we go. Step one buy some wooden dowel ends or anything that looks like a 1/32 - 1/30 scale pot.

Step 2: Paint the pot. I chose a orange brown color.

Step 3: Grab a pinch of grass from those railroad scenery items or maybe some of that green foam that florist use.

Step 5: While I was at Hobby Lobby and grabbed some of these from the dried flowers section. I think these are called Heather Deliciosas. Just stick them in there and presto! You have a miniature potted plant for your diorama. :)

Alex,
Thank you for providing the step-by-step instructions to make the potted plant. It is always helpful to see that a person doesn't have to be incredibly creative or artistic or crafty on their own--they just need someone like you to provide basic instructions and a little encouragement to give it a go themselves. It's especially helpful to have the pictures along with the instructions.
Thanks for sharing your creativity, artistry and craftiness with the rest of us!

Oh sure, that's what we need - more potted plants with our tanks and soldiers.

Now Alex, I have several of your repaints and I know that you are very creative, but man you have too much time on your hands.:D;):)

- Time passes and our hero (sceic2) has a brain fart -

NOW IT GET IT - "potted" plants. Of course its completely understandable now (paint fumes?, I don't think so).

Some how a piece created by your self means a lot more than a piece bought and created by some one else. Creativity is good for the mind and soul. I love your potted plant Idea and will build a couple myself. Great Idea
Thanks charlie:p

Charlie - Why do I get the idea that you'll find a way to put real dirt and grass in that pot and still make it look good?? :D
