I came across this companies soldiers here at treefrog. I love the look of the Sudan stuff. Specifically the mounted figures on camels. Anyone own any of these , how is the quality and paint?

I don't know these figures that well but you might also want to check out the Somerset line as well. They're quite awesome.

I purchased one of the ACW sets from Manes Marzano. Their sets suffer a lot of bayonet breakage and you should ask Treefrog to inspect any set before they send it to you. As for the painting, the website picture looks better than than the actual set I purchased. I found the painting to be very crude.:(

I received an email today from a tree frog , they told me the figures are indeed brittle and damage easily. They said the paint quality was good. just curious if anyone else is familiar with this maker.

1/30 scale , made in Argentina.

The boxes the figures come in are unique and almost works of art in and of themselves. However, the figures' sculpts seem to me to be a little El Grecoesque, that is, long and skinny. I have looked at them in Chicago over the last few years, but did not buy any.

I just ordered a set of the deverish figures. I'll let you guys kknow what abou them when I received them next week...:)

Hello all. I recently purchased the French Engineers in Action set (MM 11).
It is true the paint jobs are a little crude but overall they are trully works of art. They don't have that massed produced look to them which makes them unique. And at $109 for 7 soldiers, it's easy to get carried away. I was very pleased with what I purchased and plan to buy another set here shortly.
take care.

have both retreat from russia sets and love them.they are very delicate.had only bent bayonets, easy to fix,but one figures head was broken off.that wasn't too hard to fix,but.......will definately buy the next few retreat sets as they come out
