The is on in Brisbane 2 July mid day Oz time. Lots of hype here in the past week. Horn is a Brisbane fighter who is 9 years younger. Pacquiao is getting 10 million win or lose but Horn gets 500,000 if he loses and I think I heard 2 million if he wins. Pacman is the favourite but Horn will have massive local support (50,000 + in the stadium).

Manny Pacquiao vs. Jeff Horn, billed as "Battle of Brisbane", is a scheduled boxing match for the WBO welterweight championship. The fight is scheduled to take place at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia on 2 July 2017.

The bout was initially announced in January 2017. However, by the next month the fight was in doubt.Pacquiao decided to fight Amir Khan in the United Arab Emirates, but the fight fell through. Pacquiao-Khan is now possible to take place in November 2017.

The fight was finalized in April 2017.The fight is financed by the city of Brisbane and the Queensland government. Some in the media have questioned the quality of the match-up.

The fight will be broadcast as a pay-per-view in the fighters' home countries of Australia and the Philippines, with the rights respectively held by Main Event and ABS-CBN.

In the United States, the fight will be aired on ESPN (in English) and ESPN Deportes (in Spanish); due to the time difference, it will air on the night of 1 July. The fight will mark a return of Top Rank boxing to ESPN; the promotion had previously aired fights on ESPN from 1980 to 1996. It will mark the first time that a Pacquiao bout will air on a non-premium, basic cable channel in the United States (previous Pacquiao fights were largely broadcast via PPV).

My better half, a Philipino, got home late. Said she had been "stalking".

She managed to get into an invitation only two hour prayer meeting with Pacman and family and about 200 in his hotel. Very excited but a bit shocked at how small Pacman is. Managed to get a selfie with him in the background.

She has no interest in boxing but will be at the fight with other family and friends tomorrow. Her ticket is way up high in the stadium. Through a good friend she has also got an invitation to the "celebrations" in hotel after the fight.

Queenslander Jeff Horn, new world champion, congratulations Jeff. Manny Pacquiao humble in defeat. I hope your wife will get over the result Brett.
Regards Greg.

She was texting me during the fight. Very upset over a head butt. Seems she is still going to the Pacman party but suspect might be a bit subdued.

Manny has in his contract can have re-match in Brisbane in NOV. Suspect Horn might get paid a bit more for his next fight.

She bought the T shirt as I had told her win win no matter who won.

The middle of winter here and a mid afternoon match BUT the best weather possible. Not a cloud in the sky, barely a breeze and almost warm = perfect!

Yeah the amber fluid is flowing pretty smoothly at the moment. Proud to live in this great part of the world. Sapper.
