Hi !
I just found this Doctor?
Ya, it looks like Adolf Hitler with some sort of hat and a bag !
It says Manon no .20 , USA.
I can't find anything about Manon !
He stands about 3 3/4 inches.
Thanks !
Manoil was one of the two biggest American toy soldier makers in the Thirties and Forties, alongside Barclay. Their figures are referred to as dimestore toy soldiers, because they were sold in the five-and-dime stores of the day. Manoil had started out making die-cast items like ink stands, lamp bases, and picture frames, and then focused on cast toy soldiers.
This is Manoil's "Doctor", number 20 in their catalog. It was available in two finishes-white (20), and khaki (20K). I suspect that yours has been repainted at some point along the way, because I'm not aware of any color variations that weren't in Manoil's catalog. But it could be original. There are other collectors who specialize in dimestore toy soldiers, who can say with more certainty than I can.

There's one for sale on e-bay right now - have a look at the pics from this link - which shows original colours. It's priced at a buy it now $20 - which may also help with value. Should be pretty easy to paint - why not have a go??? jb
