May be this is only a personal require. Nevertheless I wish to sharing it with you.

I love all the marching sets and among the early released items the FIW BM-04 and 05 from Monongahela and QF-05 and 06 from Quebec the first.

Unlike the last QF-25 and TIC-20 I think the box with three marching soldiers much better than one with only two men. With firing and advancing double figures I satisfy my will to set up mass scenes collecting more of the same set. Also I am quite sure to expect a second or third set of quite similar poses. The same we can’t expect for the marching soldiers, usually one box is enough! For this reason I prefer a three figures set.

With my BM’s marching Line and Grenadiers soldiers, due to their different heads and arms poses, I set up a large and varied column, the same I do with QF’s sets. The same I can’t do with the new (awesome) Languedoc Infantry or TIC Grenadiers, unless John plans a second marching set.

To conclude I believe the third figure makes the difference! …or not?

Carlo,

I have many of the same views on this situation as you do, especially how the figures display, but also realize that the cost for a "box" of JJD needs to be less than $100 to be commercially viable. So three figure boxes or sets are likely to be a rarity in the future.

As with you, I am hoping for additional marching sets, particularly for the 42th.

the marching sets have always been some of my favorites...they are so versatile on dioramas...either peaceful or war scenes...I welcome more marching figures and would prefer sets of three with subtle difference in arms...heads...hands...

Mike,
a clear example is your beautiful display with the 1812 marching US Infantry posted the March 23rd. I presume you were helped to set up the column having at your disposal three figures (USCH-05 set) rather than two.

Carlo...that's one of my favorite JJD sets...I have 17 or 19 of them (can't remember)...I wish he had made a British marching set to match it...but yes...a 3 figure set is much better for me...
