Chosin Reservoir Marines at Toktong Pass. To me this was the amazing battle that saves the 1st Marine Division from annihilation from the Chinese armies. J

I think this museum is top notch. If reading about these actions is of interest, try author Eric Hammel. He is an excellent writer of USMC battles and I was really impressed with his "76 Hours", (Tarawa), and "Chosin". He has done many other works too. -- lancer

Yes, He is one of my favorite authors/ historian. I have most of his books including the three books on Guadacanal. He wrote separate books for the land, sea and air battles.I don't have his Chosin book. J

Loved Hammel's 'canal titles. Of interest regarding his "Chosin", Hammel recounts actions involving Lt. John Yancey of 2nd Platoon, E Company, of the 7th Marines. I first read of these actions as a 10 year old in the Landmark book "The Story of the U.S. Marines". It was a real thrill for me to read of these actions again as an adult, with much added detail. Give it a read, it is woth the time. -- Lancer

I haven't gotten to see the USMC Museum in person, but these photos, and others I've seen, make the scenes look top-notch. I love the idea of 1:1 dioramas with the original uniforms, vehicles and gear. A terrific way to display the stuff.

Thanks for sharing the photos.
