Martin Ritchie produces traditional, 54mm, glossy figures of American WWI and WWII fighting men. The photos attached are of a WWII 26 man unit of the 3rd Infantry Division marching, sling arms. This illustrates the impact of grouping numerous similar sets together for effect. I also have a 15 man USMC grouping and a 19 man WWII U.S. grouping of the WWII 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions. I don't have room to display them.

Hi Mike,

Once again, you have posted some great pictures of your outstanding collection. I marvel at the depth and beauty of it. Thanks for providing us another glempse of your outstanding collection!

Warmest personal regards,

Pat :)

Mike: Thanks for photos of more figures. I knew Martin Ritchie made Marine figures but did not know or saw the Army figures. Leadmen > I think he made a set of mounted Horse Marines in China. I always was going to order the set but never did.

Martin Ritchie very well may have made a set of the Horse Marines. However, I know for sure that Americans In Miniature made U.S. Horse Marines in Honduras (circa 1920s) including an NCO with a Tommy Gun. They are wearing smokey the bear hats. They also made a Peking Legation series of Marines in winter uniforms. Bob Fisher use to have that series for sale; I regret not buying them when I had the opportunity. I have subsequently seen them on eBay, but I have always been out bid.

Very nice indeed. Keep sharing collection with the rest of us.

I have that set of horse Marines, along with several other Americans in Miniature marines sets, really great stuff.

American in Miniatures must have been the set I was looking at. Leadmen

Americans in Miniature's USMC China Legation winter uniform series also had Horse Marines. I can recall at least a mounted color party. Maybe Louis also has this set. BTW, Martin Ritchie seems to attend only east coast toy soldier shows. Also, I am not sure if American in Miniature is still in business.

No, the only mounted marines in my collection are the central american ones. The rest of my Americans in Miniature stuff (2 or 3 other sets) are on foot - marching at the double I think.

Mike , thanks for the pics. It is always good to have a lot of the same figure. I agree it makes for a stunning effect!
