I am currently reading two new books:

Masters of Empire by Michael A. McDonnell-2015 is the history of the French/Indian wars focusing on how the tribes in the old northwest held back the Iroquois which were at war with the Algonquians and western tribes. Interesting book on the trades with the French and English.

The other book is the true story of N. Jack "Dusty" Kleiss during the battle of Midway. Kleiss was a navy aviator flying a Dauntless dive bomber pilot during the battle off the Enterprise with Scouting Squadron six. He was awarded the Navy Cross for hitting the Japanese carrier Kaga with three bombs and sinking the ship. He also fatally struck the Hiryu and two days later the destruction of the cruiser Mikuma. He lived to be 100 years old and was the last survivor of Midway.

Never Call Me a Hero is on my shelf in the 'to be read' section. Just a matter of getting to it. I look forward to it. -- Al
