A medical orderly of the Royal Sussex Regiment in the Sinai during World War I reports to Captain Wentworth that a caravan of camel ambulances is on its way from the front bearing the wounded from an ambush by the Ottoman Turks.

Watercolour by an officer of the regiment done sometime between 1916 and 1917.
