This year, more than 35 collectors gathered to hear Rick and James, Rick's father.

As discussed on other threads, Figarti displayed its "D-Day + 1" theme and introduced "Bloody Tawara." The IS-2, Winter Ground Stuka, Winter 15 cm Howitzer and M16 Halftrack were also shown.

James Wang started the meeting with descriptions of the products that are near and dear to his heart. The first one is the "Last Supper" inspired by the famous Da Vinci painting. He has been developing this piece for 6 years. It is all hand painted and packaged in a highly polished wooden presentation box. The anticipated price is $389. James mentioned that the sculptors were all 20 to 21 years old with no formal training. The second theme is the Bejing Opera. Each set of figures represents a famous Chinese Opera and the painting is very close to "Russian" figures. There are accessory pieces like an opera stage, audience sitting at tables being served tea, and an orchestra on a raised platform.

Rick then talked about the new Bloody Tawara 1/30 scale sets, which was launched with the following sets:

PTA-001 M3 GMC 75mm Halftrack with 3 figures
PTA-002 M4A2 Sherman Tank (Tawara) -- "Colorado"
PTA-003 LVT-1 Amtrak
PTA-004 Marines in Action, A
PTA-005 Marines in Action, B -- this set has Marines clambering over a sea wall

The Tawara diorama shown in pictures on other thread was done by Build-A-Rama.

Rick next discussed the problem involving paint flaking and admitted that it was caused by improper paint mixing by an unhappy employee. The problem was no noticable at the factory either during painting or packing. Problems arose after a few months. This problem has been retified.

Rick then brought out a production Sherman Crab and a half-painted production Sd. Kfz 7/1 Flakvierling. The Crab and Flakvierling are the next sets that will be released in March. The Sherman Crab is amazing, with real chain used for the mine clearing rotor and separately attached.

A video was then shown of the Figarti factory, taking collectors on a step-by-step process of making figures. Some products under development were shown, including what most collectors thought was an ISU-152 and a production HE219 in packaging. The HE219 will be $369.

Rick gave an open invitiation to everyone visiting Shanghai to come to the Figarti factory, saying that anyone visiting will receive a one of a kind item.

Rick reiterated that Figarti stands behind its products and collectors with concerns should contact their dealers or Figarti directly.:)

So this was this a deliberate act then?

Was there any discussion as to how all of us collectors with vehicles with this problem will be helped ?

Yes, Rick said to PM him directly and he will take care of it.

Thanks Steven for the Figarti update on their new products.

Steven - thanks for the updates. Was a date mentioned for the plane?

Thank you for the update, the Marines look great.
