An illustration by the well-known 19th C British "Special Artist" for the Illustrated London News, Melton Prior, during the Anglo-Zulu War of 1879. The illustration in the upper left corner shows Prior's horse falling into an "ant bear" hole. Ant bear was a another name for the South African aardvark. Aardvark is an Afrikaans word meaning earth pig. The other illustrations show a 2nd fall by the artist's horse, "Sketching Under Difficulties" and "Special Artists Setting Fire to a Kraal". I thought this might be of interest to the Zulu War collectors on the forum.
