I know bayonets can be a pain from bending during manufacturing and packing, but I can unbend other maker's bayonets, but the TG doesn't seem to be nearly as forgiving and the metal snaps. Any hints?

I never had any broken gun barrels or bayonets , I did indeed get a few bended ones in their box; I use a set of small tweezers to bend it back into its original position ( when bending you have to support the full length of the bayonet or gun barrel) . Never had any brackage .Sometimes you need to repaint the item ;
guy:)

I'm not certain you aren't already doing this, but be sure to warm the metal first. A set of human fingers held at the intended point of bending for a minute or two is usually enough, but a heat lamp or hair dryer can work as well, in moderation. Good luck!
