George: I plan on going next Sunday. Unless there is a ice storm but we been lucky. Weather been good previous years. Last year it was warm and rain. John

John,
Looking forward to seeing you there; I'm attending the July one as well..........

I'll be attending also. John, we live in Michigan and nice weather one day means cold and miserable next time:D Hope to see you there. If George is going then that means two K&C dealers. I'll have to bring extra money now to support the newcomers endeavor in Michigan.:D George I know you come by some retired stuff sometimes and if you have any K&C the west stuff let me know. Thanks Greg

Happy Hunting to those of you at the show! I will be toy train hunting in Hayward CA:)

Well I knew it would happen. After good weather for the show in previous years we got hit this time. Heavy snow by me and we decided to stay home. Semi's closing interstate and I might have headed north to avoid lake effect snow but that would even be longer to drive.Well maybe in July.:( Leadmen

John sorry you couldn't make it to the show. It was the best and biggest show so far I think. They moved the "kids" figure painting to a front room this year and my 7 yr old daughter was going to explode when we couldn't find it at first. What was really neat for me was the fact that some kids would grab a figure and go to town, my daughter picked a British grenadier cause it looked like mine and painted it with the right colors. Well for the most part anyways.:) She found some really good deals with her 5 bucks and we had a great time. Me I over spent and ended up buying stuff I hadn't planned on namely crusaders and Saracens but they looked so good. I was only able to pick up one of the Jenkins sets I wanted because they sold out of what they had with them. Overall it was a really good show and I was glad to see it's getting bigger. They even had a carriages mortar piece on display. The historical show part is always interesting even though I can't afford the really cool stuff. I like the fact that they combine both shows.

Thanks for the report Greg. My buddy near me did not go also. First time he missed. Guess when you get older you loose your nerve. Normally I would have gone. Maybe in the summer. Leadmen

I have to agree that the show was larger this year. I was manning the W.Britain's booth near the entrance this year as Richard Walker was in England. The downside for me was that I missed out on spending time shopping.
I did see a lot of folks and there was good feedback on the new products shown, with some interesting suggestions too. We ran out of catalogs pretty fast and had folks sign up to get one sent to them.
It is always good to see the young people painting...hands on now and who knows, maybe someone up the road won't sell our collections in a garage sale! There was militaria, the figure painters club display and a 1/32nd scale wargame in addition to the toy soldier dealers so it was a good mix.
My good friend Ken Bauman had his WWI German MinenWerfer on display...it took years to find all of the parts to put it back together! Next year we hope to get out the machine gun carts for display.
