I just picked up the Feb. 2006 issue of the English magazine "Military Machines International" and thought I'd suggest it to some of our members. This is a magazine about restored military vehicles and displays of restored military equipment. The February issue has an article on "Tanks In Town" an event at Mons, Belgium where many restored vehicles are gathered to celebrate their liberation in 1944 by the US 3rd Armored Division. No it's not historical research, but it is fun to see color photos of tanks in a European town, even if they were taken in 2005. Some of the vehicles are nicely restored and some even have various syowage hung about, or have reenactors dressed as period infantry riding. There's even the photo showing a shocking pink air recognition panel draped on the turret of a Pershing - that's the stuff you don't pick up looking at historical photos in black-and-white. Another article deals with Jeeps in WW2, and another has a photo essay on a restored Kettenkrad. I picked this up for $6.99 USD at Barnes and Noble booksellers.
Enjoy,
Gary
