The Players Tobacco Co. created 'cigarette cards' on a number of topics including historic and contemporary military uniforms of the world as seen in the display below.

I thought it might be fun to make a series of cards using soldiers from my collection.

Hi, Randy, this is a side question to your project, but it looks like some of those cards depict British uniforms from the middle of the 18th century. Is that correct? I'll have to add those to my hunting list. I have a collection of German tobacco cards, showing uniforms from the Seven Years War, and they're handy to have in my reference stash.

BTW, which does your '75 grenadier advertize--Red Man, or Beech-nut? :D

That display which I found online shows a good survey of historic periods from the 17th through the 19th Centuries. There are online sites for Players card collectors which might be a good place to start your search.
 
These are wonderful Randy. I love the concept and your ability to capture or replicate the old tobacco card feel. Great work and keep more coming!

Loving these randy my grandad had loads of tobacco cards while i was growing up but they all got sold over the years to buy more britains lol
