So im looking at this halftrack and trying to win an argument. The little vertical rectangles on either side of the engine compartment; are they mirrors or turn signals? they are painted with a reflective silver color, which to me indicates mirrors. however a comrade of mine argues that they are infact turn signals. i reject his idea based on these turn signals designs i found:

So what are these on andys halftracks???

Did any AFVs have mirrors? I don't mean trucks but tracked armoured vehicles? Sd.Kfz 251 Ausf A halftracks did.

@Phantom WArrior: So are these mirrors on andtys 251? the back is painted silver, and they seem to be attached wrong to be machanical turn signal indicators

No - they are mechanical turn signals . The mirrors I mean were big, round and mounted on the driver's side wheel guard

Interesting photo depicting 5 of the 251 Halftracks lined up, noting the PAK version added in the group.

I think that photo is early war (1940???). The half-tracks have mirrors and I think the "PAC" half-track is only a 37mm PAC 36.
