What ever happened to that being produced ? Just a suggestion (regarding all the warbird discussion) why not make it in 2 versions . 1 DAK (Rommel) & a 2nd with contintental colors & perhaps a Duce or Skorzeny figure with it . 1 model / mold with 2 versions both potraying interesting subjects . Is this possible ? I mention it because I remember at Louis`s house Andy going into some detail about the storch & then never hearing anything else , execpt there was trouble finding a factory . Just a thought .

From what I understand, Andy is as disappointed about the inability to produce the Storch as we are. He designed and had masters made of a Rommell figure, a pilot and a mechanic to go with the plane, but has just not been able to find a factory to reliably produce this plane. For those of us who had been pushing hardest for the Storch, and who were willing to pay for the more expensive version, Andy made a very limited run (3-4 I think). You can see mine at the next Symposium.

We were able to see a factory sample of the Storch when we were in Hong Kong. Definitely not up to K&C standards.

Maybe he should start considering other options like, plastics/combo resin...a la Century 21 Warbirds.

Andy, per recent correspondence, is still looking. There are really no updates other than what we've given over the last year or so. Unfortunately, only three of the expensive ones were produced and they've all been presold.

NP, we haven't been given pricing yet but it's probably similar to previous pricing, i.e. $695 and up.

Plastic injection molds for planes made by FOV and 21st Century actually cost a lot more than polystone or resin molds -- more than $100,000 per mold.

I think I will make three and then not offer them to the general public....kind of unfair if you ask me. I would buy one at $695 but I guess I will never have the chance:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

From what Brad posted, Andy wants to see how these very delicate planes travel. If they all arrive safely, presumably he will offer some more for sale and you can get one.

I think that is one of the concerns. It's called a Storch because it had very spindly legs and Andy wants to make sure the packaging is adequate to protect this plane.

If your question is also addressed to these planes in general, I think you need to do what enthusiasts like Louis, Pierre, Harvey, myself and others do: email K and C frequently about what is coming out and when and they'll let you know. They are not hiding any secrets and certainly not playing any favorites. If they were, they certainly would have told us about the Hellcat in British markings which many of us nuts wanted but did not get.

I just would like a Storch. I have considered buying the one at the local hobby shop and building it but I haven't built a model in years. I should have bought some of the others as I am off on Mondays and thats when they seem to post on K&C website. Could have had several of the Warbirds but I hesitated for some unknown reason..........

Amhuff,

Send Andy an e-mail about the Storch. If you are willing to buy one, I bet Andy might be willing to expand the experimental run from 3 to 4.

My understanding is that Andy wants to see how the Fieseler will travel (his own words). That's the reason why he made only three.

I had to return my three Bf-110 to K&C, at their own expenses -Andy was really helpful - and the travels Canada/HK/Filipino/Filipino/HK/Canada definitively chopped his profits.

I was also disappointed to be informed that there is just three Storch and that they all sold out - not a surprise - but I am sure that Andy will re-do that model if they don't get damaged in the shipping.

Meanwhile, will I go for the Henschel 123 or wait the next releases?

Can someone give me a clue?

Pierre.
