No mixing :)

Heh heh, John! And mine is Tamiya XF-49 :D Though Tom, I applaud your efforts to mix your own. I'm gradually learning to mix my own colors, in oils, and with craft store acrylics, though I still rely heavily on the manufacturers' catalogs.

Prost!

Seriously, though, Tom, I can check tonight when I get home. I have Bob Knee's book on color theory and I think he's got some khaki forumlas in there.

appreciate it.....I hate painting...that is why I make things out of sculprey,,,you buy it colored...no need to paint..but..colors you want are not always avail....sculprey mix's together same as real paint....matter of fact I brough some sculprey today...the colors I wanted was not avail....I have worked out a good flesh color...after much effort....some of the other colors have beat me though...what do you mix to make Yellow...White......Red...can make Orange... But I need Red to make it....etc etc..just need a few clue's here and there and I reckon I will be on the right track...Thanks...Tom

Thank you....but what I am interested in..is which colors to mix to obtain Khaki....I have tried adding yellow to brown with a touch of white but I dont get a very good color....the old battle dress color is the one I tried for but just cant get the shade,...Hang on..I have'nt explained it correctly...I will start again.....I hate painting....you can mix different colors of sculprey and get same result as mixing paint......hence if I make a figure..I dont have to paint it....just lazy...I could buy the paint but I am a sloppy painter....I would spend hrs retouching..... what it boils down to really is I want to avoid painting......thanks...... That's a little unusual, Tom--you say you're lazy, but you don't mind mixing paints? To me, that's far more work than using ready-made ;) That's one reason that I've only recently started experimenting with mixing colors.

Prost!

From what I understand he is not mixing paint, he is buying Sculpey and mixing them together because they do not carry certain colours within their range.

Correct......Sculprey has a very good color range but most popular colors can be hard to obtain,,but yes,,,I am a bit lazy,,,I hate painting figures when I can use ready colored material,,Tom
