Hello

This may be of an interest to UK W Britain collectors. I was passing my local Modelzone store yesterday and noticed that there discount on all there William Britain stock had dropped down to 50% off marked price ( allowing me to pick up 20100 Zulu War Major Smith at the bargin price of £45).
Do not leave it too long as Modelzone is sadly in the final stages of closing down there shops, which will happen on Thursday the 12th of September.

Is there any way for US customers to access this sale? I would love some of those Zulu mounted exclusives!

I phoned the Cambridge shop as they had 2 left of the mounted figures as one of our fellow treefrogger had seen them.. but they would not ship to Canada... it is likely hit and miss as not all shops would still have the last remaining exclusive in stock

The only way I can think of is if you know a Treefrog Brit who lives near one of the 18 remaining stores (out of 45) that has the stock you want and will buy it for you and ship it.

But before you do, the Major Smith model that was bought for GBP45 (don't know if that includes VAT) and would cost $20 to ship to you can be purchased from Treefrog for $100 with no tax and free shipping. So even at 50% off at Modelzone, is it really a bargain for US collectors? If you want a Britains figure, it may be best to check US dealers and Britains USA.

The £45 I paid was including VAT, but it may be a false economy for US collectors as there would be postage to add and may be other deals for US stores.

The cost of shipping is horrible. I now have a policy of only ordering from Canadian sources while I'm in Canada and once I move south I will only order from US sources. At least that way I avoid brokerage fees. I'm also trying to order several items at the same time and getting them shipped together.
