Can we please get a modern war series? Such as the Balkans/Yugoslav wars of the 90's..

Well, Im all for Modern just wouldnt spend money on that particular campaign. No real interest.

I would love to see a Modern Wars line{bravo}} It would be Great for guys who really like those Wars and Great for me as I don't and would not be tempted, I have all I can handle :wink2: regards Gebhard

.
I for one am interested in modern campaigns, however, I can see why manufactures don't like patterns that tend to blend into the background. There is no individuality with DPM, how many of us would put this top row as their first choice?

The top row would be my first choice.

I know I'd prefer the DPM if it were a matter of self preservation ^&grin . Although looking smart, the others make way to good of a target with todays weapons especially that chap third from the he left in the bottom row :wink2:

I would buy figures dressed in Dpm in a heartbeat.Would rather they be action poses though.

Hey Guys! This may be a dumb question, but what is DPM?
Anyway, the Balkans would be a good line. The Bosnian serbs had cool uniforms and weapons. Also, the T55 tank would be cool. FL did such a great job on the 34/76, the 55 would be a great addition..

Not a dumb question at all , DPM is the short term for Disruptive Pattern Material which is the camo pattern currently used by the British Armed Forces. Although I really don't collect any periods in Miniature past 1945. To be honest I would be interested seeing what FL would come up with. A Balkans sniper duel would be interesting .. regards Gebhard

I too would like to see some modern ranges - coalition forces in Iraq and Afghanistan would be my preference. Not the wars following the breakup of the former Yugoslavia please - one bunch of murderous thugs against another!

Wow! - I stand corrected! I have some 1950s Britains & Johillco figures, in Battledress, all bargains because of the low demand for the "boring" Khaki drab colours!

My avatar is of my home made ones, I never thought that sort of thing would get a second glance from you guys!

My "model soldier" collections includes representatives of a number of the current manufacturers - K & C, First Legion etc, etc, but my most treasured group is formed from a collection of Britains Swoppetts "modern" British infantry featuring 1960s combat gear and SLRs. Supporting them is a Britains 155mm howitzer, BAT anti-tank gun and a Swoppets 3-inch mortar (alas no longer working). Armoured back-up comes in the form of two Centurions (one a Britains model, the other made by Minichamps). A couple of stretcher bearers provide medical-back-up including blood transfusion)!

That's a great idea simon! If I had the extra cash,I would have picked up an extra set as well. These would look good in a 3 color desert pattern as well.Even better in digital, but who can paint that.lol
