Army Col. Lewis L. Millett, 88, passed away Nov. 14. An outstandingly interesting career in the US Army during WW2, Korea, and Vietnam was highlighted by his award of the MoH during the Korean War. As a company commander, on Feb. 7, 1951, he led a successful bayonet charge up Hill 180, near Soam-Ni. The action is commonly acknowledged as one of the last full-blown bayonet charges executed by US forces. He was also a military advisor to the Phoenix program in Vietnam. He retired in 1973. -- lancer

Anyone who leads a bayonet charge up hill has a lot of guts. The Colonel sounds like he was a true warrior
