Have any Hollywood releases depicting the Battle of Monongahela ever been released...

I did a google search...

I can't find anything...

Anthony Hopkins as Braddock would be a great choice...

I do not think so. Lack of any female leads might have something to do with it. But I am sure Hollywood could think of something, especially if you consider how they twisted the romantic leads in Last of the Mohicans -- book is very different from the movie -----in the book, Uncas and dark haired Cora, Duncan with Alice, Hawkeye zippo!!!

In the early 1980's PBS Masterpiece Theater actually made a multipart adapation of the Last of the Mohicans, now available on DVD. As a Masterpiece Theater, it is extremely faithful to the book.

Hi Michael,
I found very interesting little clips about FIW , in fact ,it is a serie on You tube .
You can have it even when you search " Québec History".
You can found " Washington in Ohio", " fort Necessity" , "the Monongahela",
"the battle of Carillon", "the battle of Québec"......This is in american;and it is perhaps extracts of a DVD.

Good Call Sir!

Some good clips - makes a change from Last of the Mohicans!

Just watched the PoA clip - we definitely need charging Highlanders

Not a movie but, I believe the Documentary From PBS The War That Made America has a scene of Braddock and the battle. Just thought I would mention.

"George Washington" (1984) It's the Barry Bostwick Mini series.

James Mason played General Braddock.

Fellas, get on to You Tube - Lamiral is spot on with the clips, they are cracking so much so that Mrs Evzone has banished me and the laptop to the kitchen 'cos I'm making too much noise and she's fed up with hearing Highlander warcries and bagpipes. If I knew she had a hang-up with such things I might of thought twice about inviting her to share her life with me. But to be fair she did treat me to the Merry Grenadiers recently, so I'll hold back with the red card until after she seen my credit card bill from the London Show in March.

I remember Braddock had an infatuation with one female or at least what I construed as an infatuation with a woman in Alexandria...on his departing for Fort Duquense...he had written a letter to her...praising her her hospitality and personality... that gave me the impression he "took a fancy" to her...when I read "Braddock's March"...

I know 50 women accompanied the troops...mostly soldiers wives who cooked and washed for a small pay...

Hollywood could embellish...they have before...

James Mason...would have been a good choice for a Braddock...

Holy crap! I'm laughing my head off, the part about thinking twice to invite her to share her life with you because of her "hang-up!" Great stuff, I have to show this to my wife, she'll get a real kick out of it. :D
