Can someone who owns this tank tell me if the gun barrel is made of metal or resin. The reason I ask is that Julie has one in the Consignment Shop where the gun is bent. If it’s made of metal, it’s probably fixable but if made of resin, probably not.

Thanks in advance.

If it is made of resin, it's still possible to fix it, by immersing the barrel in hot water (not boiling), and gently bending it back to shape. It's not uncommon to have to adjust resin parts like this in a model kit.

Prost!

I had discussed this with Mike De Marco and he said if it’s resin, he couldn’t guarantee that it wouldn’t break when he tried to bend it after heating it. He thinks it’s probably resin because metal wouldn’t bend like that.

Yeah, warming a resin piece isn't a 100% solution, but it can be done. Heat can be used with styrene parts that are distorted, too, and even with white metal.

Prost!

Just got a response from Julie that there's some silver showing so I assume it's metal.
