Would love to see more of these figuresgrin These are great and make for an amazing omaha beach diorama Especially when the detail that King & Country produce is put into them!^&grin

Only thing is that barely any 2nd Rangers wore assault vests and it was mostly Officers and a few NCOs who did.

I have posted before about the previous filming, but I am doing some filming for a certain special group soon and me and my friend Pete are portraying Len Lomell (me) and Jack Kuhn (Pete) climbing the cliffs at Pointe Du Hoc. We are also portraying Able Company landing on Omaha beach, and 5th Landing there also. We willa also have the amazing experience of sailing in a real Hggins boat very soon!^&grin

2 of my fellow reenactors are portraying two real Rangers who are still alive today. My friend Scott is portraying Private First Class Ray Tollefson from 2nd rangers who after seeing the men at the front of the LCA he was in get shot down, jumped over the side of the LCS, and was shot to pieces by machine gun fire, despite this he manages to crawl ashore and find an aid station several hours later. Another member of my group, Jonny, is portraying John C Raaen, Captain of HQ Company 5th Rangers. He was on the same LCA that Father Lacy, the Ranger Chaplain was on!

This filming will be shown on TV early next year!:wink2:

I was going to take it upon myself to portray Lieutenant Robert Edlin of Able Company, even though this was not someone who the company are wanting to film about. On D-Day Edlin wore a BAR belt which he stuffed with garand cartriges as he used a rifle. I think it would be amazing if King and Country produced a figure of this man as there is real history, not only to his unit, but to the man himself, and if a figure was produced they would have to be wearing a BAR belt, but NO ASSAULT VEST!:wink2: And a t-handled shovel hooked onto his m-1928 pack!:wink2:

Back to toy soldiers!^&grin I think it would be amazing for King and country to produce more Ranger beach figures, as well as personalities. A figure of father lacy, the Rangers Chaplain who was attatched to the 5th Rangers on D-Day would be great. A figure of Colonel Rudder, the man who was the father of the 2nd Rangers, in full Invasion gear (WITH ASSAULT VEST). Len Lomell and Jack Kuhn destroying one of the 155mm guns on D-Day. Some Rangers with no assault vests, and no packs on carrying ropes and grappling hooks in their hands. More invasion figures would be spectacular...but not just Rangers! With the recent flood of 1st Infantry figures it would be great to see some 1st Infantry in Invasion gear, with life belts, gas mask bags, and brassards, and maybe even some figures with black waterproof bags over their rifles! The 1st Infantry Division and Regimental Combat team from the 29th Infantry Divisions suffered massive losses on d-day, with some divisions losing having more than 30 percent casualties. A british LCA with smoke coming from it and riddled with bullet holes would be cool as hell!^&grin

I know Andy has already said, but a DD tank would be spectacular, with the rubber flaps around it and designed so that you can't see the tracks so if put on a water base it appears as if it would be floating?^&grin

Casualties are usually an essential part of war dioramas!!! Bodies floating in the water, lying on the sand, wounded men crawling ashore, carrying wounded man, helping them ashore under fire. A personality figure of the Chaplain who went about Omaha beach blessing the dead bodies and taking confessions of wounded and dead Rangers while the Germans were firing around the beach would be amazing. Father lacy was quite a big fellow and he did not have the painted diamond with the '5', or '2' on the back of his helmet as he was attatched to the Rangers. Many of the Ranger medics also did not have red crosses on their helmets but has a '2' instead.

Ranger medic Frank South so went ashore with HQ Company at Pointe Du Hoc!^&grin

Anyone else missing some men from their beach dioramas? :)

I would like to have rangers in a climbing position scaling a cliff. Scott, is it for a documentary? Keith

Anything concerning Omaha beach...Charlie/Dog Green/Dog white sector in particular would be of interest for me!!...How about a set portraying the Demolition team..(whoever it really was ) blowing up the Anti Tank wall at the D1 exit.

Would be great if andy brought out a little accessories set with gas mask bags, life belts, m-1928 packs, helmets, rifles, bars, boots, and these could be used on the beach as items men have dropped/lost!^&grin

Would also like to see some d-day +1 figures - wounded on stretchers with lifebelts as pillows!^&grin
