Hey Guys

Here is an idea for everyone, I was getting tired of having the lower shelves in my curios getting no light and all of my scenes down below were always in the dark, NO MORE :D

If you go to Lowes, you can buy these self adhesive battery operated lights. I am using the "DOT IT" by Sylvania, just go to the light bulb section and look where the night lights and light timers are sold. They only cost $9 and some change. All you have to do is remove the tape strip to activate it, yes batteries are included, and then you just push down on the face to turn it on or off. Just peel the tape backing and stick it where you need more light inside your curio.

I hope this helps everyone!!

I adapted one of our cabinets with flexible rope lighting. For those unfamiliar with it, it is plugged in to an outlet at one end and then various lengths can be strung together to form something akin to LED Xmas lights arranged about every two inches inside a clear plastic tube (there are other colors).

It takes a little doing, but if you string these lights along the inside corners of a tall cabinet, they do a very nice job of bringing light where before there were shadows.

Good luck,
D.

What a good idea. I'm definitely going to try this one. Thanks for posting Drum.

Great ideas. I was going to Loews this weekend. I will pick one up to try out. THanks.

I used rope lights on my shelve for my trains. Insdie cabinets, puck lights are a good idea.

I stopped by Loew's today and picked up 2 of the Dot-it lights. I just wanted to see how they worked on my curio. THey worked great. My wife even liked them. Good quick and easy fix to light up your curio diorama. I will go back and buy 6 more to add to my other sports. Thanks for the great idea.

I bought the Dot Lights from Loews yesterday and they are OK - but if you have a large cabinet you will need more than 1 - It took all 3 that I bought to light 1 shelf in my cabinet.

They also work as a mini spotlight - so the light is not defused throughout - make sure you are aware of that when placing them in your cabinet.
