From my understanding these first two limited edition sets were a test run and if all went well we would see more limited edition sets every quarter or so. From my limited view point it seems the Napoleonic Dragoons have done well and the Stug IV has done very well. Based on this has anyone heard if there will be more limited editions? If there are going to be more does anyone know what they will be and when they will be coming out? Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks,

There's going to be the limited edition British Sherman coming out in December for the London Toy Soldier Show.

Good point. There'll be 500 of those and then in March Andy will offer 200 more. I also believe the Sherman will have troops with them. Should be great.

This is a little off the track of this thread, but I was hoping some of the K&C collectors who have purchased the limited editions might comment on the quality of the painting. Is it equal to the rest of the line, or another step up in quality. Is there a noticable difference in the skills of the painters for the limited editions as compared to the standard line? Thanks

I did not notice any difference in the painting, sculpts, etc.

Maybe its just me, but I thought the paint quality was a touch better on the two limited edition pieces. Vibrant sharp colors on the Napoleonics, much more subtle on the Stug but equally as nice.

Getting back to those British Sherman tanks does anyone know how to get on the American list for them? I have no problem waiting till March 2006 for them to cross the pond. Will they be carried by all the dealers or just one? My concern is I think that 200 tanks will go quickly if the reaction to the STUG IV is any indication. If anyone has more information I would apprciate knowing more.

Thanks,

Hi Old Guard here is some information for you. Bob Neville is the fellow in the UK with the initial order for the shermans. He has set up a site for you to get on the list for one. Here it is BritishSherman@kingandcountry.co.uk.This is from his messaged to the forum dated 7/14/2005. I would drop him a note to register your interest. He was considering the possibility of shipping them all to Shannon for distribution here in the states. At least by contacting Bob you will be in the loop to get your Sherman.
Hope this helps.

My question applies to the term "Limited Edition", in the truest sense all the K&C products are limited editions, however as the term is used by K&C in these applications this would imply some number less than standard production runs.
From what I have gathered most production runs are between 500 qnd 1000 units, Hence I was a bit disapointed to see the Stug produce at what I see as a pretty standard production number. The Dragoons are more in line with what I would expect as "limited Edition" run at 350.

That is not exactly correct. Andy has been producing around 1,000 or more of a parcticular item lately, not the 500 to say something is limited at 500 would seem to be correct as it is about one half the normal run.

Re: Limited Edition Sherman

Hi Guys :)
Limited Edition British Sherman
As mentioned in my earlier posts a further 200 Sherman’s will be available from March 2006. I am not aware of any specific arrangements being made for the distribution in the States via any specific dealer. This will be a decision made by Andy and his team.
If you want your Limited Sherman in time for Christmas drop me a line at British Sherman
All the best
Bob
