Hi Guys,

My friend Jason (Panzer Ace) was asking if K&C had ever produced any “modern” warbirds.
Actually we have….but not recently….Several years back we did all kinds of F14 “Tomcats”….F18’s….British and USMC AV8 Harriers…Hawker Hunters….Panavia Tornadoes….F4 Phantoms….English Electric Lightnings….North American F86 Sabres….Vulcan “V” Bombers….Grumman Trackers….F16’s… A6 Prowlers and Intruders….to name but a few.
Here’s a very small reminder.
Best wishes and happy flying!

Hey I like that Grumman :cool: Although not so modern, makes me daydream of a Grumman Goose in a WWII era scheme.

Andy:

As always, thanks for the reply. Obviously my warbirds knowledge is pretty limited so I figured the forum was the best place to inquire about the modern ones. Like all things K&C, these planes are simply spectacular.

Best,
Jason

A Grumman Goose..Duck and Albatross float aircraft would be great...get away from the land based aircraft...nothing more beautiful for an aircraft nut to watch than a float plane taking off and landing .....I would even save my pennies for one...cheers TomB

Do a Spruce Goose in 1:30 scale Andy, then you can ship them to customers in there own shipping containers!!!{sm2}{eek3}{sm4}

Jason,

One of the volumes of the book done by Kevin Elliott and myself about King & Country specifically focuses on the warbirds and related buildings, vehicles, pilots and groundcrew. If you go to www.blurb.com and search "Toy Soldiers" or "Kevin Elliott" you can preview the Warbird Volume (you can see about 15 pages of the volume), and see many photos of K&C airwar production from the collections of myself, Lawrence Lo, Chuck Karen and Brad Lewin, beautifully staged and photographed by Kevin.

Andy,

I've never seen that Desert Storm aircraft flyer before. Great stuff!^&cool^&cool I have the Grumman Tracker and the F14 Tomcat, along with a couple of the Jet Fighter pilots you did, and Larry Lo has the A6 Intruder, but it is great to see the F15, F16 and the F18, which I have never even seen photos of before!:smile2:

I thought I had missed that. Wonder if it was ever issued. Will have to print it out.

Here is the Intruder - scale is not 1/32, but 1/48

DC-5.jpg Not a modern aircraft..but,,an unique aircraft....only 10 ever produce..superior to the Dc3 but did not go into production as everything was geared up for the C47,,,, No model have ever been made of this aircraft.....to air buffs the world over I reckon this would be a hit,,,you could even flogg a few models to McDonald-Douglas...cheers TomB

It was a smaller, shorter range version of the DC-3. But how much would you want a model of one if you knew that 2 of them were operated during WWII out of Australia by Aussies to ferry supplies to troops in New Guinea and for supply/relief missions inside of Australia. {eek3}
