This thread is nothing even remotely connected with toy soldiers, other than some days in the life of your average miniature figurines collector. Besides, previous responses and the evidence of my bulging email inbox suggest that a few members here enjoy these occasional visits to the Far East.
My crew-change chopper is normally scheduled for Monday morning. I arrive in Bangkok late Saturday night then get driven down to the city where our supply base is located on the Sunday. To while away the time, I’ll occasionally take a walk around town on the off chance that I’ll meet and have a conversation with some of the local Thai citizens. You know guys? Have a chat about the world financial crisis, err, and how the price of toy soldiers is getting out of hand, and, err, stuff like that.

And yes Damian, she is actually a proper girl - so she told me anyway.
Naturally, I’ll usually head back to my hotel around 18:00 and go read some interesting book about toy soldiers, probably.
Some months back I related the reason why an oceanic vessel was carrying out a survey of the seabed around one of the production platforms I work on here in the Gulf of Thailand.
Cos if you don’t do a proper survey then the consequences can be rather, err, interesting.
To be continued.
Cheers
