18 year old traffic controller and Moscow native Elena Gromeko and her fellow Muscovite and comrade-in-arms infantryman, Yvgeny Platanov, 23 stand guard during the beginning of the Russian occupation of the German city of Dresden near the ruins of one of the many buildings destroyed by allied bombing in February 1945.
