Since we have had many fine releases thus far and the promise of many more I thought it might be fun to see what the more anticipated future releases were for this range. I thought about limiting the choices to just one but I wanted to give more free range to the responses this time so have fun selecting as many as you want, as well as those I didn't list.;) I freely admit the poll choices are limited and many great options for many of you are likely omitted. Be sure to explain your selections as usual.

Spitfrnd,

My most anticipated new release would be the long promised Russian infantry. I would like to start building my Russian infantry units for my Borodino diorama. Matt has been teasing us long enough with photos on the work bench of the website. I think the Russian artillery should be available for pre-order any day now. I check the website several times a day to see if it is up yet. So far only disappointment. :(

As for the Austrians, I just like their uniforms.

This was a tough decision, as there is a lot I would love to see. However, I voted for only two of the choices. First was the British Highlanders as discussed in another thread. First Legion's paint work would be amazing to see with some tartan patterns.

Secondly, I would love to see a British Command Set, which I think would have broad appeal. You could also add to it with the recent mounted personalities for a larger scene.

Still, so many things to wish for!

It is a tough set of choices for me as well. I would like most of the items on that list but in order I would hope for
1) 95th Rifles
2) British Heavy Dragoons
3) French Dragoons
4) British Line Infantry
5) Portuguese Infantry

Of course I would also like some new French Infantry for Spain plus all the British and French items on the list. Some much to like, so little time.:D

There also was no "All of the Above". I must admit that I don't collect for a diorama. I like to show the range of uniforms during the Napoleonic Wars. Therefor I would like to see more of the allies, Austrians, Portuguese,Spanish, Swedes, Danes and the German states. It is way off base, but I would also like to see American soldiers. I like about anything from the era.

Number of choices there I'd like to see, but the top of the list would be Austrians - Grenadiers - both German and Hungarian.

I voted for all the British options, but I would like to see some Austrians as well, the earlier style with helmets.

A would like to see all of these choices listed eventually released and I'm sure they all will be at some point. Of the choices listed I went with the British Heavy Calv (I think they would look Great given the FL care) & The Polish lancers ( " we'll match them with our Lancers "):D & also the Prussian Calv and KGL ( Weil ich Deutcher bin ;)) . I must also say I'm waiting patiently for the Wurtemberg Line also both of the upcoming Brunswick releases (the Advance Guard Jaeger's in Grey should look fantastic) & also the Nassau Infantry and of course the upcoming Russians **** I want them all ! I'll just have to start eating PBJ three times a day to come up with the funds.

Though it's still relatively early in the poll voting process, I must say that the one item I find surprising is that the British releases seem to be more in demand than the French releases. What really surprises me is only a few votes for the Cuirassiers. Is this because they are less in demand or is this a result of us having just announced Carabiniers? A sampling of 22 people means pretty much one small baby step above a sampling of zero, but I do find it surprising as I have received more questions about when we'll release the Cuirassiers than I have about any other figure or release.....perhaps the forthcoming Carabiniers have scratched that itch (well, at least among 22 people here as since we announced the Carabiniers, I've still received questions about the Cuirassiers!)

Oh, almost forgot - welcome to the forum Gebhard! Glad to hear you're so taken with our figures. They're certainly a worthwhile tradeoff for PBJ!

I'll say they are ! Thanks for the welcome. I must say you guys are doing a FANTASTIC job , I really can't wait to see what is going to be next. Thanks again ;)

One thought on the Cuirassiers being kind of low on this very small sample of people's wants, is that other companies have done them. The Carabiniers are new and different. I'm positive that the Cuirassiers will sell well. People just want to see something that hasn't been done, or done well.
After seeing my PRUSSIANS today and how much your product has improved since the Bavarians, when you do release the Cuirassiers, they will be miles beyond what other companies are doing.

I am not sure that people just want to see something that has not done before. It surely isn't true for me and I know that it isn't true for others being fully committed to FL: it was FL's way of doing things that brought me into collecting Naps. Other companies have been doing Naps for years but the style of figures just didn't/doesn't appeal.

It might also be that as the Cuirassiers have been announced for some time that people have the impresssion that they are "already there" and don't count them as a "new" release and therefore vote for something "new".

I fully agree on the improvement on the figures - I was intrigued by the Bavarians but not enough to bite the bullett but now I am just amazed by what comes out month after month.

I certainly hope that all sells well and that we can fill our shelves for many years to come with these fantastic pieces!

Well to understand the results from any poll you need to appreciate its limitations and its strengths. First off the question was most anticipated, not what will you buy so simply not scoring well does not mean something will not sell well. The sample size so far is small but large enough to give some representation at this point. A better poll would allow respondents to rank their choices but that is not possible here.

That said, I think the relative support for new British versus new French is valid and representative. Of course you need both to tango but there have now been 4 French to 2 British releases and 2 of the French ones have clearly benefited from your continuing improvements in quality and accuracy. It is not surprising that there is a demand for some equalization on that score. It has been often said here that there is a great demand for the British / French side of the war so to that extent, the results reinforce that.

I have little doubt that the the low Cuirassier score is a false negative. For example, I didn't vote for them relatively but I very much do want them. In fact, I would have preferred them to the Carabiniers but I would prefer the French Dragoons (and British Heavy Dragoons) even more. I don't think you need worry that they will sell but there is something to the point that there are some existing Cuirassiers available and no Dragoons in this scale.

I noticed no one specifically mentioned the Hussars or Light Dragoons. Although I arbitrarily limited myself to 5 choices, I am very much looking forward to some of these as well to compliment my reading of Brigadier Allan Lawrence Mallinson's novels chronicling the (fictional) life of Matthew Hervey, an officer serving in the (fictional) British 6th Light Dragoons. The series starts with A Close Run Thing : Cornet Hervey's adventures before and during the Battle of Waterloo, well worth reading.;)
