Most Depressing Songs (1 Viewer)

I don't know if I can single out a song but English band The Smiths put out some pretty depressing music in the 80s.
From time to time I have heard some pretty un-encouraging metal music with titles such as "Live to Die". I think a lot of hip-hop is pretty negative too.

Somehow the thread got split. The Smiths are a good candidate. I think they even depressed themselves.

The posts for this thread are in Movies and Media under the same title. Don't know how this got split. -- lancer

HAHAHA good one Rob seems that The Beatles are much more popular outside of the UK

Can't stand a lot of their music to be honest, always prefered the Stones myself, always thought their lyrics more life like and gritty as opposed to all that Love me do stuff.:)

I am crazy about The Beatles, Stones and most 60s rock. Generally non-depressing though.

Most songs from Pink Floyd's «The wall» album. That said, I find that they are very well done and I like the album, which has a mix of depression/rage mood.

Michael Martin Murphy's "Wildfire". The girl dies, her horse dies, and the singer will apparently be dead soon after the song ends.
